Alpena County Commissioner Finance Committee members were recently given a status update of their current budget (21st), and through January, the numbers were encouraging.
Treasurer Kim Ludlow said as of January 31st, over 3-hundred 82 thousand ($382,846.51) in revenue was collected, or just over four percent (4.31%), which was slightly lower than last year.
Expenses amounted to 9-hundred 69 thousand dollars ($969,214.84), or about ten percent (10.13 %), which was slightly higher than last year.
The county had over 3-point 9 million on hand ($3,990,622.56) of which over 6-hundred 59 thousand ($659,536.00) was reserved.
Ludlow observed that extra expenses were attributed to software purchases, a Register of Deeds service agreement, airport expenses and adding money to that budget for cash flow and maintenance service agreements, and costs associated to the District #4 Health Department building.
