Man Arrested for Attempted Murder

A Topinabee man was arrested for an alleged attempted murder that occurred Friday (February 23rd), just after 9:00 p.m.
Cheboygan County Sheriff Dale Clarmont deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 19-hundred block of North Straits Highway in Topinabee. Deputies arrived and found 37 year old Adam Donald Conway being held down on the floor at a residence.
The investigation revealed Conway was upset at the victim, who alleges Conway attempted to cut his throat and then chased after him with a rifle into a neighbors residence. The neighbor was able to hold him down on the floor until Deputies arrived. The victim did sustain minor injuries.
Conway is charged with Assault with intent to murder, a life felony; home invasion, a 20 year felony; assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, a ten year felony; and three felony weapon offenses, up to five years.
He was arraigned on the charges Monday (February 26th). His bond has been set at one million dollars and his next court date will be in March.
