At Wednesday's (February 21st) Alpena Community College (ACC) Board of Trustees meeting, members heard an update regarding spring semester enrollment for 2018.
As previously reported, ACC President Doctor Don MacMaster gave his President's Report back in January and mentioned that 2018 spring semester enrollment was down nearly six percent (5.6%) in credit hours and just under two percent (1.7%) in headcount compared to the 2017 spring semester. Since that time, headcount is up 1 point 2 percent (1.2%) and credit hours are down by only 3 point 5 percent (3.5%).
Officials mentioned the number of dual enrolled, early college and online students saw an increase, however, continuing students and the average number of contact hours taken are down.
Also 410 Career and Technical Education (CTE) students from Alpena, 149 from the Iosco Regional Educational Service Agency (IRESA) and 75 from Alcona High School, were enrolled through direct credit.
Officials say total projected headcount for the semester is 2,032.
