Michigan State House lawmakers have approved of supplemental spending for transportation needs, most notable road repair.
The plan calls for providing an additional 1-hundred 75 million dollars ($175,000,000.00) for counties, cities and village roads across Michigan as early as this summer.
Counties slated for funding include Alpena - over 3-hundred 40 thousand dollars ($340,000.00), Cheboygan nearly 4-hundred thousand ($400,000.00), Presque Isle County around 2-hundred 87 thousand ($287,000.00), Alcona approximately 2-hundred 68 thousand ($268,000.00) and Iosco County over 3-hundred 89 thousand ($389,385.00).
Officials say the money comes from extra money available left over from a previous state government budget cycle and is already available, meaning no budget cuts or additional taxes are required.
House Bill 4321 advances to the state Senate for further consideration.
