Fairview Man Lands Record Fish

A Fairview man broke a state record on May 25th while fishing Alcona Pond in Alcona County .

Jarred Gusler caught a brown bullhead measuring 17 and one half inches, weighing 3.77 pounds while bow fishing. The previous record setter was caught in September of 1989 by a Lansing man fishing on Coldbrook Lake in Kalamazoo County. His fish also measured 17.5 inches, but weighed only 3.10 pounds.

The record was verified by Kyle Krueger, a DNR fisheries biologist in Mio.
