Michigan State and Iowa will meet tonight at Hawkeye Arena. In fact, the Spartans will play four of their next six games away from the Breslin Center. MSU is 12-and-3 overall and 1-and-1 in Big Ten play. Iowa is 0-and-2 in conference. Michigan State has won the last four meetings with the Hawkeyes.

Two more Red Wings joined the mix at today's informal skate in metro Detroit. Valtteri Filppula and Henrik Zetterberg practiced with the team prior to the start of training camp this weekend. Filppula, who hurt his knee while playing in Finland during the lockout, said he doesn't expect to miss any games. Zetterberg, who played in Switzerland during the work stoppage, is expected to be named the Red Wings captain following the retirement of Nick Lidstrom.

Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh (en-DOM-uh-kon Soo) has reportedly settled a lawsuit stemming from an auto accident in December of 2011 in Portland, Oregon. The passenger in Suh's vehicle had filed the suit but agreed to a settlement and the lawsuit was dismissed on January 3rd. Saddia (SAY-dee-UH) Van Winkle charged Suh was negligent and was driving recklessly when he crashed his vehicle into a light pole. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
