Fairview Senior Athlete Tylor Ross signed a letter of intent to play basketball with, and be a member of the Alpena Community College cross country team.

A recent "Purple Game" - an Alpena Wildcat hockey fundraiser for Friends Together raised $710.00.

Northern Lights Arena and the Alpena Hockey Association are hosting the state girls MAHA playoffs in Alpena, starting Friday March 2 through Sunday the 4th. 22 teams, across 5 divisions, will each compete for the state title in their division. Teams from all across Michigan will be in town as early as Thursday March 1st, with games starting Friday March 2 at 11am. Saturday, games start at 8am, until 10:30 p.m. Sunday games begin at 8:00 a.m. through 1:30 p.m. and all will conclude with the U19 Championship game at 5:30pm. On any Alpena Public School Snowdays, Northern Lights Arena in Alpena holds a free open skate between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Skate rentals cost $2.00
