Alpena Community College softball program is holding a bowling fundraiser for their spring break training in Myrtle Beach. It will be held February 9th at the thunder Bowl Lanes with checkins starting at 7:00 p.m.   $40.00 per couple, gift raffles, 50 / 50 draws, and other events will be held. The group is also seeking donations for prizes from merchants. for more information, call 616-520-3853.

The Alpena Community College softball program will hold a winter softball camp Saturday February 10th at Park Arena for girls 8-18. Various sessions will be held and for more information, call the college.

The Alpena High School hockey team will play it's "Purple Game" - to heighten awareness of and to fundraise for cancer programs. It will be held February 10th at Northern Lights Arena at 7:00 p.m. For more information, contact the arena or Friends Together in Alpena.

The Alpena Boys Basketball Rebound Club is hosting a student appreciation night February 20th for the JV and Varsity basketball programs. The first 200 K-6 students get a free t-shirt, $1.00 admission, autographed team photo, and can join the human tunnel when the team enters the gym. Other events are planned as well.

On any Alpena Public School Snowdays, Northern Lights Arena in Alpena holds a free open skate between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Skate rentals cost $2.00
