Alpena Freshman Baseball Wins Over Alcona JV Tue, 15 Apr 2008 8:10:16 The Alpena Freshman Baseball Team Took 2 from the Alcona JV Game 1 Wyatt Grulke got the 10-0 win in the first game, pitching two innings, striking out 6 batters, walking 3 batters while facing a total of 9 hitters. Reilly Walker closed out the last two innings of the 4-inning shutout mercy. Walker recorded 2 strikeouts, 1 walk, and gave up 1 hit. Tyler Kirkwood led the offense going 2 for 2 at the plate with a triple and a single. Jon Dziesinski added 2 singles. Game 2 Alpena threw 4 pitchers at Alcona in a last inning come from behind win. In the bottom of the 5th and final inning Alpena scored 4 runs to win 12-11. The pitchers for Alpena were Chad Thomas, Tyler Kirkwood, Ben Gould, and Zack Hawley. Zach Hawley pitched the 5th inning and recorded the win. Hits for Alpena were scattered throughout the order. |
