Alpena IceDigger Victory Over Marquette

Forward Bryan Ross (Livonia MI) scored first for Alpena on a nice individual effort Tyler Pilmore (Sylvania OH) and Ryan Timar (Novi MI) assisted on the marker.
The IceDiggers went to work in the second period when Erik Peterson (Alpena MI) scored on a 5 on 3 man advantage, JC Gulch (Temperance MI) and goaltender Nick Graves (Hewitt WI) earned the assists on the goal. Peterson scored his second of the night on the same shift tipping in a shot from the point from Jon Puskar (Canton MI), Gulch picked up the second assist.
Alpena led 3-0 after two periods and added an insurance goal in the third period when Andy Yarber (Livonia MI) slammed home a pretty feed from Mike DeGrazia (Novi MI). Jerrod Hartman (Findlay OH) also assisted on the tally.
"I thought as a team we were solid in all areas, the guys played with a lot of energy and they deserved to win tonight." said head coach Kenny Miller.
Graves continued his hot streak making 25 saves and earning his second shut out as a member of the IceDiggers.
The IceDiggers finished 2 for 2 on the power play while Marquette (21-18-3 45 pts.) went 0-3. Alpena (25-13-3 53 pts.) took over second place with the win.
Alpena will travel to Traverse City on Friday night for a 7:05PM game before returning to Northern Lights Arena on Saturday at 7:00PM to finish up the home and home series.
