(Mi/Iowa-Ethanol Report)
A New Report From The Iowa State University Center For Agricultural And
Rural Development Is Challenging Further Need For Federal Tax Credits And
Tariffs For
The U-S Ethanol Industry.
Center Director, Bruce Babcock, Says That Based On His Study Of Random
Corn Yields And Gas Prices, U-S Ethanol Production Would Rise 14-Point-Five
(B) Billion Gallons By 2014, Even If Current Tax Credits And Import Tafiffs
Expired.
He Says That Could Also Reduce Ethanol Prices By 12-Cents Per Gallon In
2011;
And By 34-Cents In 2014.
But, Babcock Adds That Current Renewable Fuel Mandates Must Remain.
Those Mandates Require An Increase Of The Use Of Renewable Fuels Like
Ethanol From 13 (B) Billion Gallons To 36 (B) Billion Gallons By 2022.
The Entire Report Is Available Online At
W-W-W-Dot-Card-Dot-Iastate-Dot-Edu.
