MSP Make Arrests

State Police of Alpena say they made three arrests this past week involving intoxicated or impaired drivers.

While on patrol in Alcona County last Wednesday (28), troopers observed a speeding vehicle, and made a traffic stop. The driver, a 61 year old Mio man was accompanied by a 34-year-old Detroit man. Police determined the driver had a loaded pistol in the vehicle, had an expired permit to carry a concealed weapon, was under the influence. He was arrested for weapon violations, carrying while under the influence, and operating while Intoxicated. The passenger was cited for open alcohol and released.

In another incident, troopers were dispatched to a one vehicle accident on Ossineke Road in Alpena County Friday (02). A 21 year old female said she swerved to avoid hitting an animal and crashed her vehicle. Police determined the woman was intoxicated and she was arrested for operating with a High blood alcohol content.

While on routine patrol last Sunday (04), Troopers observed a speeding vehicle and made a traffic stop. Officers determined that the 23 year old Alpena man was operating on a temporary permit from a previous operating while intoxicated incident. The driver was arrested on the charge of Operating While Intoxicated.
