Change of Command at Alpena CRTC

A change of command took place Tuesday (11-28) afternoon at the Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center.

During the 2:30 ceremony, command was given to Colonel John Miner from Colonel Andrew Roberts.

Miner recently served as commander of the Air Operations Group of the 217th Battle Creek Air National Guard Base.

The highly decorated Miner has numerous degrees and vast military assignments in the United States and abroad.

Colonel Miner routinely flew Combat, Combat Support and Tactical Airlift missions in support of U.S. Air Forces Europe and NATO Allied Operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa including the conflicts in Bosnia, Rawanda and Kosovo.

Colonel Roberts who was named commander of the Alpena CRTC in the summer of 2014 will move to a new assignment at Michigan Joint Force Headquarters in Lansing.
