RC Council Schedules Public Hearing for Power Franchise

Members of the Rogers City Council have approved of scheduling a public hearing related to a new power franchise agreement with Consumers Energy.
The new version is pretty much a carbon copy of an earlier version approved 30 years ago. It also contains a 60 day out notification clause by either party.
In general, Consumers has to adhere to Public Service Commission rules and regulations. On the local scene, it allows Consumers the right, power and authority to construct, maintain and commercially use electric lines in its distribution system within the city.
That includes city owned and maintained right of way or alleyways.
Once the hearing is complete, the council can formally finalize the agreement.
