An arrest warrant has been issued for Logan Tyler Mott of Florida for the murder of Kristina June French also of Florida and formerly of Alpena.

Police say last Wednesday (11-22) French's son, Eric Mott and his girlfriend expected to be picked up at the airport by French, along with his 15 year old son Logan. When they did not show, he and his girlfriend got a different ride to his Neptune Beach, Florida home.

There, the elder Mott discovered a safe had been forcibly entered and guns were missing. Also discovered at the home was a shallow grave which contained a body, later identified as French.

Logan Mott and French's car were both missing and later detained in Buffalo, New York at the U.S. Border where it is believed he was attempting to enter Canada.

Authorities in Buffalo have been made aware of the warrant and are coordinating with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office for the extradition of Logan Mott.

French is survived by family members in the Alpena area.
