During the most recent Alpena City Council meeting (November 20th), members of the Alpena City Police Department received "survival kits" from Girls Scouts of Saint Paul Lutheran Church.

They were given to show support to the department and the service they provide to the community.

Department members at the meeting received bags containing various types of candy including Lifesavers, Smarties and Laffy Taffy among others.

Police Chief Joel Jett thanked the girl scouts saying, "We are very fortunate to work in a community that supports us and this is just another fine example of that."
