To ensure efficiency and accountability of the state’s public health system, Governor Rick Snyder Monday (11-20) signed Executive Order 2017-10 establishing the Public Health Advisory Council.

One of 18 appointed for a four year term representing the general public is Michelle Styma of Posen, who serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Thunder Bay Community Health Services.

The council will initially develop an action plan for implementing recommendations of the commission, providing advice about emerging issues, monitoring effectiveness, and reviewing multiagency efforts on public health responses.

Other appointments from various state agencies are pending and will be announced soon.
