The Ossineke Township Clerk was led from court to the Alpena County Jail in handcuffs Monday (11-20) afternoon.
After pleading no contest in September, 68 year old Dennis Albert Liske of Ossineke was sentenced to one year in the Alpena County Jail by Judge Mike Mack in the 26th Circuit Court. Charges included two counts CSC out of Midland, and one charge criminal sexual conduct in Alpena involving the victim, his granddaughter.
The term has a one year concurrent cap on an agreement out of Midland.
The charges originated after the young girl reported, and later testified Liske had inappropriately touched her on two different occasions. One incident took place at a hotel in Midland County during a family Christmas party before the holiday, the other at Liske's home after Christmas.
Judge Mack said he found the girl's testimony to be credible.
In addition to jail time, Liske must comply with terms of his five year probation, or face prison time. According to his attorney, Dan White, Liske has already paid associated fines and court costs. An additional fee of $4,050 dollars was imposed Monday for supervision during his probation period. He has also been given credit for two days served. Liske has registered on the Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry. Tier Three of the registry is CSC second degree/person under 13 years of age.
Alpena Prosecutor Ed Black read a in court a statement written by the victim which stated in part, "I don't want to remember what my grandpa did. I feel like nothing will ever go back to the way it was. I've had nightmares about what my grandpa did."
