It was a busy week for Montmorency County emergency service agencies who responded to 129 calls for service.

Deputies checked out 11 car deer crashes, six disputes, seven animal control incidents, and three alarms. They also made seven arrests on warrants and three traffic related.

Tri-Township EMS made 14 runs while Hillman had 11, and Lewiston five. Hillman and Lewiston fire departments made one run each.

Last Tuesday afternoon (14th), agencies responded to a business parking lot in Lewiston for a man with a gunshot wound to the leg. He had apparently been brought there in a vehicle from a hunting camp as the call originally went to another 911 center. One man was transported to the hospital, and the case remains under investigation.

Shortly after, a single vehicle rollover crash occurred on County Road 451 north of Hillman, but no one was transported to hospital.

Sunday morning, there was a vehicle / natural gas line property damage accident which resulted in a major gas leak. Fire and EMS responded with deputies to the incident on County Road 612, but no injuries were reported. A portion of County Road 612 was closed for most of the day while repairs were made.
