New Carpet in Alpena Courthouse

Some areas of the Alpena County Courthouse will see new carpeting.
County Maintenance Superintendent Wes Wilder recently presented County Commissioner Finance Committee members with bids he received to replace carpet in the clerk and treasurer's office. The low bid was for over 73 hundred dollars ($7,324.06).
But since the bid was much lower than expected, Wilder asked if the bidder could complete some additional replacements. Those areas are in the courthouse lower level, including two commissioner office areas and a conference room, for a total of over 39-hundred dollars ($3,922.25). Those prices reflect a per square foot price ($22.69) as originally bid on the initial projects.
All together, the total cost will be over 11-thousand dollars ($11,246.31), which is around half of what was budgeted.
Wilder also asked if the full board could be polled and give approval before their November 28th meeting due to a two week delivery time for materials.
