RC Council Restricts Park Hours During 2014 Nautical Festival

The Rogers City Council has approved a resolution restricting the hours of access at six parks during the upcoming Nautical City Festival.

Seagull Point Park, Lakeside Park, North Shore Park, Sports Park, and Westminster Park will all be closed between 2 and 6 a.m. on Saturday, August 2nd and Sunday, August 3rd.

In addition, South Shore Park, which is home to the city’s little league fields, will be closed from 11 p.m. August 1st, through 6 a.m. August 2nd. It will be also be closed for the same hours the following night.

The resolution states that “No person shall loiter or remain in these parks during those hours.”

City officials say the parks are being restricted to protect public welfare and safety.
