An All American Birthday

Happy Fourth of July!
On this day in 1776, the Declaration of Independence was approved by the Continental Congress, setting the 13 Colonies on the road to freedom as a sovereign nation.
As always, the most American of holidays will be marked by parades, fireworks and barbecues across the country.
In 1776 there were an estimated 2 point 5 million people (2,500,000) lining in the newly-formed country. Now that number has grown to over 312 million (311,700,000).
Some U.S. cities have more patriotic-sounding names than others. For instance, 31 places have "liberty" in their names; 35 have "eagle" in their names, 11 have "independence" and 9 have "freedom."
Another interesting note: in 2010, the U.S. traded over 98 billion dollars ($98,300,000,000) worth of goods with the United Kingdom, which was our adversary in 1776. That makes the British our sixth-leading trading partner today.
