Mon, 04 Dec 2017 06:05:09 EST
The state average price of just over $2.43 a gallon ($2.43.4) for a gallon of regular gas went down by nearly nine cents (8.7) in the past week, but is still about 23 cents (22.9) higher than last year.

Market observers had predicted lower gas prices going into the holidays, as hurricane activity, along with refinery and pipeline repairs being completed which had reduced the nations supply.

Northeast Lower Michigan prices have also started to go down. As of this (Monday) morning, Grayling was $2.33... Gaylord $2.38... Alpena $2.41... Tawas $2.42... Oscoda $2.55... while Cheboygan and Rogers City were $2.59.

The national average was $2.47
