Posen School Technology Plan Under Development

As part of a state requirement, public schools have to develop and submit a technology plan to the state... and for Posen Schools, an updated plan is due this year.

Long of the short, a district has to give some detail of how they are implementing technology use for student learning or other applications, and try to develop a long range plan for future implementation.

The last time a plan was submitted was 5 years ago, and Posen Superintendent Drew Milliron says "There were a lot of things the district was able to accomplish that were identified in the plan."

The district has been developing computer labs and replacing equipment over the past five years and maintains a contract with a computer company for maintenance.

The revised plan - to only cover 3 years - is due to the state by July 1st.

Milliron noted "It's always good to look at a path to take... but unfortunately with technology, what you write down today is quickly obsolete."
