Swimming Lessons in Rogers City Appear to be Sunk Thu, 08 May 2008 15:28:49 Despite the best efforts of Rogers City Manager Mark Slown, it appears an idea to hold swimming lessons in the town has been shot out of the water. Slown was trying to organize formal swim lessons for Rogers City children but could not find a qualified instructor. That's a disappointment, he said, because of Rogers City's connection to the Great Lakes. 80190 Slown-Swim Program "We want our people to learn how to swim, our young people to learn how to swim, so that they can enjoy the lake." He recommends that anyone who wants to enroll a child in a swimming program contact the Alpena Plaza Pool. He acknowledged that traveling to Alpena every day will be costly due to gas prices, but said people can contact him and he will try to organize ways to make the travel easier. |
