Northeast Michigan - Let The Beach Water Monitoring Begin

Northeast Michigan is receiving part of one-hundred thousand dollars from the State for inland beach water quality monitoring.

The Department of Environmental Quality is awarding District Health Department Number four a 55-hundred grant to monitor one local beach and three state park beaches in Alpena, Cheboygan, and Presque Isle Counties.

District Health Department Number two will receive over 16-thousand to monitor 18 local beaches, 3 state park beaches, and 7 DNR access sites in Alcona, Iosco, Ogemaw, and Oscoda Counties.

The grants are funded with Clean Michigan Initiative-Clean Water Funds.
