Onaway Council Allowing Soil Borings On Maxon Field Thu, 08 May 2008 4:47:30 Onaway City Commissioners are not committing to a City Community Center project at this time, but did authorize Tom Moran to have soil boring done on Maxon Field. Boring would aid in the design process of a Center. Last month, Commissioners were presented a 10-thousand dollar check and 30-thousand dollar pledge by August from Moran Iron works for a City Center on Maxon Field, as part of the Maxon field concept. The board had tabled the matter due to potential legal issues. This week, Commissioners authorized Tom Moran to use that money for the borings, as long as it doesn't interfere with Ball games. The City would revisit going further with the potential City Center project, pending relocation of the ball field. |
