Stupak Files For Re-Election Thu, 08 May 2008 3:32:41 First District Congressman Bart Stupak continues his quest for re-election to represent Northern Michigan in the U.S. House of Representatives. Stupak announced his intention to run late last year, and filed nominating petitions and affidavit of identity last month at the Michigan Secretary of State's office in Lansing. Over 14-hundred signatures from the first district were submitted... the State law requiring one-thousand. Stupak was first elected to Congress in 1992 and currently serves as chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee's Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations.... which has broad jurisdiction over energy, environment, health care, consumer protection, and telecommunications policy. |
