Cheboygan County Experiences Power Outages Thu, 08 May 2008 3:29:03 A pole fire resulted in power outages to approximately 12-hundred households in Cheboygan County Wednesday afternoon. Presque Isle Electric and Gas Co-op crews believe the fire was sparked when equipment failed because of a lightening strike. Residents of Inverness, Mullett, and Burt townships were affected, with power restored later that evening. The Utility reminds residents that as the summer storm season approaches, weather may change rapidly. If an outage occurs, check for blown fuse or a tripped circuit breaker before calling the Utility. Also, watch for and stay clear of fallen wires, broken utility poles or tree limbs on power lines. |
