Ed Black Announces Candidacy For Alpena County Prosecuting Attorney Wed, 07 May 2008 12:46:38
Alpena Attorney Ed Black Formally announced his intention to seek the office of Alpena County Prosecuting Attorney.Black, a local trial attorney has worked in the court system over 8 years, starting as a law clerk in Oakland County while attending evening classes at the Detroit College of Law at Michigan State. Afterwards, he entered private practice, but explained that the demands of commuting made him apply for a law clerk job in Alpena. Growing up in rural Ohio, Black Said "I was looking for a similar community" and moved to Alpena in 2004, joining a private practice and also serving as Chief Assistant Prosecutor in Montmorency County. Black saying "The office of a prosecutor is a huge one for public trust... and the public has to trust whoever they put there. I believe that if they trust me, that they've rightly placed that trust, that I'll be able to maintain that trust by making sure that I maintain open and honest communication, that I work hard and diligently for them." Black noting that what sets him apart is his "Vested interest in Alpena" observing that he is very involved in the community, adding "The victims of crime and law enforcement personnel would be treated as if they were my clients.' Black and his spouse Megan along with 3 children reside in Alpena. |
