Hillman Council Approves Match Money For Streetscape Project Wed, 07 May 2008 9:26:01
The Hillman Village Council approved expenditure of nearly 37 thousand dollars as a grant match for a downtown streetscape project.Renovations to the village business district would be done in conjunction of a bridge replacement. Tentative plans call for a temporary bridge to be built in 2009, the bridge removed during winter months, and the site prepped for new bridge construction to begin in spring of 2010. The streetscape project amounts to nearly 3 hundred 69 thousand, including things like new sidewalks, decorative street pavers and concrete patterns, lighting and benches. As part of the deal, the village pledges to assume congoing costs of maintainance of lights, sidewalks, and the like, which is estimated to cost around 28 hundred dollars a year. Grants for the streetscape project are being sought from state and federal sources. (PHOTO: Village Of Hillman - Conceptual Drawing Of Completed Streetscape) |
