Atlanta School MEAP Results Favorable

Atlanta school officials are no doubt happy that last October's Michigan Education Assessment Program test results improved in the district.

3rd grade students scored at or above the state standard in math, writing and reading.... with reading and math meeting or exceeding state expectations.

4th graders were at or near the state standards but improved over last year.

5th graders were down in all levels, but the district has taken corrective action in splitting the 30 plus student class in an attempt to provide more individual attention.

6th graders had significant improvements and were at near or state averages in 3 of 4 subject areas... social studies being another course tested in.

7th grade students remained pretty much the same as the previous year, with improvements in math and writing, but down slightly in reading.

And 8th graders saw a slight improvement in 3 of 4 areas... with science testing added. A slight decrease noted in reading.
