Alpena Female Sent To Hospital After Accident Sat, 03 May 2008 5:08:04 Alpena Sheriff Deputies investigated a 2 car accident Friday that resulted in an Alpena woman being sent to the hospital. Deputies say the driver was attempting a left turn onto French Road from US-23 and struck another vehicle on the drivers door and front fender. The force of impact sending the oncoming car onto a traffic island and coming to rest in the southbound lane of French Road, the driver transported to the hospital by ambulance. The driver attempting the turn sought her own treatment and was cited for failure to yield. Alpena State Police, Alpena Township Fire and Alpena City Ambulance assisted at the scene. -------- Alpena City Police And Fire responded to the Michigan Vein Institute building where a car struck the building Friday afternoon just after 1 PM. Authorities say the driver, an elderly female, was traveling through the parking lot when the vehicle crashed into the building causing some moderate damage... pushing a section of wall in about 2 feet. The woman was not injured and refused treatment. |
