Presque Isle County Applying For Grant For Police Car Thu, 01 May 2008 15:40:40 The grant application process continues for Presque Isle County to purchase new patrol vehicles for the Sheriff's department. This past February, Commissioners authorized the Sheriff department to purchase three new patrol cars to replace older units. At a recent meeting, The County board of commissioners conducted a public information hearing, as required by the United States Department of Agriculture for a grant. A formal application will follow. County Chair Allan Bruder notes that about 14-thousand is secured through the granting agency, which will cover over half of one vehicle's purchase. The grant is expected to be awarded in mid to late this month (May). |
