Northeast Michigan Hosting Blood Drives In May

There are over a dozen opportunities to donate blood this month (May) in Northern Michigan.

The latest Red Cross inventory for the great lakes region shows the organization has an adequate blood supply, but is low on types O- negative and positive.

In Northeast Michigan, blood drives are scheduled for today (May 1st) at St. Francis Church in Lewiston, May 5th at Rogers City Senior Center, May 13th at the Indian River Cross in the Woods Family Center, May 14th at First Presbyterian Church in Alpena, and at Onaway VFW Post on May 20th... all from noon to 5:45 pm.

Tendercare Health Center in Cheboygan and Rogers City are hosting blood drives on May 23rd from 10:30 am to 3:15 pm. Other locations include Alpena High School on May 8th from 9 am to 1:45 pm, Atlanta High School on May 13th from 11 am until 4:45 pm, at St Mary's Parish Hall in Mio on May 19th from 1 to 6:45 pm, and at St. Mary's Education Center in Alpena on May 30th from 10:30 am to 4:15 pm.

To donate blood, you must be at least 17-years old, 110 pounds or more, and be in good general health.
