Flags Lowered To Honor Northern Michigan Soldier Who Was Killed In Iraq Thu, 01 May 2008 3:17:54 United States Flags statewide will fly at half-staff on Friday in honor of a Northern Michigan soldier. Governor Granholm issued the order for Army Private First Class John T. Bishop of Gaylord, who died on April 23 while on active duty in Iraq. According to the U.S. Department of Defense, Bishop, age 22, died in Golden Hills, Iraq, from injuries he suffered in a vehicle incident. Bishop Was Stationed As An Infantry Member Of The 101st Airborne Division. |
