Alpena’s Fourth of July Parade :

10:00 A.M. -  Participants should be at the Alpena County Fairgrounds

11:00 A.M.  - Parade Starts - 11th Avenue to Chisholm, to 2nd Avenue to Fletcher Street to parking area near the Marine Sanctuary. 

After The Parade - Rubber Duckie Race – Alpena Optimist Club - 9th Street Bridge. Tickets that correspond to numbers on the rubber ducks may be purchased in advance from any Optimist member, during the 4th of July Parade, or at the 9th Street Bridge prior to the releasing of the duckies. $2.50 for a chance to win $500.00 or $5 for a chance to win $1,000.00  

5:30 p.m. - Alpena City Band Concert - Bay View Park – Fine Arts Band Shell (State Street/US 23, Alpena)

7:00 PM - New Life Christian Fellowship, 317 S. Ripley Blvd., Alpena - open air concert featuring Ken Norberg, musician and song-writer, along with his wife Lisa, an accomplished flautist. The Norbergs will fill the evening with music, stories and laughter. FREE hotdogs, popcorn and lemonade will be served. Please bring your own lawn chairs.

DUSK (10:00 PM) - Fireworks - Alpena waterfront (Mich-E-Ke-Wis Park). Watch over $19,000 worth of fireworks, compliments of all the great people who made donations to make the coast toast !

PRESQUE ISLE INDEPENDENCE DAY PICNIC

Saturday July 2nd,  Location: New Lighthouse Park, Presque Isle, MI

Time: The Children’s Parade starts at 10:30 a.m.
The picnic will be served from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

FIREWORKS at Dusk

Visit Presque Isle Michigan - between Alpena and Rogers City - home to two Lighthouses.
The oldest, built in 1840, is the smaller of the two and is no longer in service, but can be climbed.  The newest tower, built in 1870, is the tallest tower on the Great Lakes which is open to the public for climbing and is still in service.
Both towers have adjacent light keeper's dwellings which are restored and open to visitors.

TAWAS AREA:

Monday July 4th:

Parade begins at 11:00 on Newman St., downtown East Tawas. 

Air Force Band of the Great Lakes will be perfoming at the Town Square Pavilion in Tawas City Park for approximately 2 hours prior to the Fireworks Spectacular at Dusk. 

DUSK - Fireworks display will be at the Tawas City Park on US-23, Tawas City.
